Leaked images show what could be Fitbit Charge 5

TL;DR

  • A new Fitbit device just leaked which could end up landing as the Fitbit Charge 5.
  • The device has a wider display than the Charge 5 and features full-color graphics, something we haven’t seen in a Charge before.
  • It appears Fitbit is using an internal codename of “Morgan” for this tracker.

Thanks to 9to5Google, we may have our first look at what could be the Fitbit Charge 5. A leaked image of a Fitbit-branded tracker landed with the codename “Morgan.” However, it’s a good bet that this will eventually sell as the Charge 5 at some point this year.

Most notably, the tracker in question has a wider display than what we saw on the Charge 4. That display also features full-color graphics, something the Charge series has gone without since day one.

Check out the leaked image below.

Interestingly, this display appears to borrow a bit from the Fitbit Luxe, the newest tracker from the company. It doesn’t feature the same metal casing and the display is much smaller than what we saw on the Luxe, but that could help keep the price lower.

Although it’s tricky to tell in the leaked photo, it doesn’t appear that the Fitbit Charge 5 will have physical buttons. The bumps you see on either side of the device are more likely aspects of its strap than buttons. We expect the same capacitive button we’ve seen on other Fitbit products to come with the Charge 5.

Fitbit usually has two launches each year, one in the Spring and one in the Fall. It’s possible this could see a Fall release sometime soon. Stay tuned for more!
