Fortnite Season 7, Week 9 Challenge Guide: How to Dance on an Abductor or as a Passenger on a Saucer

August 6, 2021

One of the final Fortnite challenges you’ll likely go for during season 7 is week 9’s objective for dancing on an Abductor or as a passenger on a saucer. It’s a lot simpler than it seems, especially if you know where to find the Abductors around the map. Thankfully, there are multiple ways to complete this challenge, so it’s something you can get through fairly quickly.

Though if you haven’t kept up with this season, or if you’re unaware of where to find Abductors or saucers, you’ll likely have some trouble — which is where we come in. Here’s how to dance on an Abductor or as a passenger on a saucer in Fortnite.

Where to find an Abductor

Step one is to find either an Abductor or a saucer. For the purposes of this guide, we’ll only focus on finding an Abductor since they’re easier to locate than the saucers. If you’re wanting to use saucers to complete this challenge, refer to our guide on taking down UFOs. Abductors are massive alien ships that spawn in threes across the map. They appear in different locations each game, but you can immediately tell where they are based on the purple color of each location’s label.

As shown above, you can see Retail Row, Boney Burbs, and Craggy Cliffs are all listed in purple, indicating the presence of an Abductor at those spots. Just remember, the three locations will change from match to match. Once the match begins, pull up your map straight away and find the closest area with an Abductor. Then, make your way toward it to land on top. Some players might opt to visit the Abductor closest to the edge of the map so there’s less of a risk of finding enemy players there.

This is an effective strategy, especially if you plan on finishing out the match. Pick whichever one suits your play style and then land on top.

It’s also smart to attempt this in Team Rumble so you can respawn if you’re taken out early. Though, even if another player lands on top with you, it’s easy to quickly use an emote before jumping off, so long as you aren’t horribly unlucky.

After you’ve landed, the rest is easy. Simply use an emote to complete the challenge. Remember, to use an emote, you need to hold down on the D-pad and select one from the wheel of options you have set. Even though the challenge says you need to dance specifically, you don’t actually have to for this challenge. Any emote will work. As long as you emote while on top, you’ll gain credit for completing the challenge and earn 30,000 XP for doing so.
