Daniel Radcliffe talks to Stephen Colbert about his viral voguing scene in ‘Miracle Workers’

We’ve come a long way since “yer a wizard, Harry.” You might have seen the viral clip of Daniel Radcliffe voguing while singing “She’ll Be Coming ‘Round the Mountain” in Season 3 of TBS’s Miracle Workers. If you haven’t, skip to 9:30 in the clip above to get the full experience.

“The less context people have on that clip the better,” Radcliffe told Stephen Colbert on The Late Show.

But if you’re curious about how Radcliffe came by those kinds of moves, you’ll be pleased to hear that he did proffer some context.

“Voguing had specifically been asked for by the writers, you’ll have to ask them why,” explained Radcliffe. “They brought in a voguing specialist called Tomás Matos and he sent me all these videos. He taught me the baby version of it because I can’t do one percent of one percent of what he does.”

Sadly, Radcliffe doesn’t think he’ll be able to pull off those moves ever again unless he’s wearing lamé chaps.
