Sony Xperia Pro 1 leaks with 1-inch camera sensor

TL;DR

  • Leaked images just hit the internet depicting what appears to be a Sony Xperia Pro 1.
  • The phone allegedly has a 1-inch camera sensor, which should make it ideal for photos and videos.
  • The images also suggest Sony could position this phone as a DSLR replacement specifically for vloggers.

We thought Sony had already launched its flagship phone of the year: the Sony Xperia 1 III. However, it looks like the company could have another high-end phone coming tomorrow, and we now have a sneak peek at what to expect.

Check it out: Our Sony Xperia 1 III review

According to two leaks on Weibo as well as one on Twitter, the company could launch a Sony Xperia Pro 1 tomorrow. The leaks all point to a camera-focused device with a whopping 1-inch sensor. That wouldn’t be the largest we’ve ever seen in a smartphone, but it would be one of only a handful of phones with that kind of imaging pedigree.

The leaked images also suggest Sony could position this device as a vlogger’s DSLR replacement. With the 1-inch sensor, leaked accessories, and Sony’s general pricing strategy in mind, it’s safe to assume this phone will be very, very expensive.

Check out the leaked images below!

Sony Xperia Pro 1 leaked images

The leaked Sony Xperia Pro 1 images show a phone that carries the usual Sony design aesthetic. That includes a tall form factor, a dedicated shutter button, a top bezel instead of a notch or cutout, and an overall boxy design. The phone also looks to be a bit thicker than usual, which might be due to the advanced camera hardware allegedly under the hood.

The accessories images show a “Vlog Monitor” that would likely be sold separately from the phone. The monitor can clip to the back of the phone and then be connected with a USB-C cable. This looks to be a way for vloggers to easily capture footage using the back camera instead of the selfie camera.

Sony has done a good job keeping this phone under wraps. As of right now, we can’t tell you much else about the Sony Xperia Pro 1. However, it is almost certain Sony would launch this phone tomorrow at its scheduled Xperia event, so you won’t have long to wait.
