Two More Villains You’ll Recognize Confirmed For Spider-Man: No Way Home

Spider-Man: No Way Home is, without a doubt, the most ambitious Spider-Man movie yet. Now, it seems two more villains are joining the already-dangerous cadre of Spidey foes in the upcoming film, according to the latest issue of Empire Magazine.

This is the time to turn back. If you don’t want to see spoilers for Spider-Man: No Way Home, hit that back button or read about Spider-Man 2, coming to PlayStation 5 in 2023.

According to Empire Magazine, we’ll see the return of the Lizard, once again portrayed by Rhys Ifans from The Amazing Spider-Man, and Sandman, played by Thomas Haden Church, reprising his role from Spider-Man 3. Photos of the magazine’s Spidey spread posted to Twitter specifically mention the two actors.

Empire Magazine hyped up the exclusive on the wall-crawler’s next adventure with the cover for its next issue:

Previous trailers have already confirmed Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus from Spider-Man 2, and teased Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin (Spider-Man) and Jamie Fox’s Electro (The Amazing Spider-Man 2). Along with these, of course, are the rumors (that will not die) of former Spider-Men Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield joining the cast as their respective Peter Parkers, though Garfield outright denied the rumors while also admitting that no amount of denial was going to sate fans curious to unravel the movie’s mysteries ahead of release.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage also ended with awead that has Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock/Venom shifting realities to find himself watching a newscast from J. Jonah Jameson about Spider-Man’s real identity. It seems likely that he’ll appear in No Way Home in some capacity, though that has not yet been confirmed.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is scheduled to hit theaters on December 17, 2021.
