After a year and a half of pandemic living, we’re all familiar with video calling. For some, it was the only way we could see our parents and grandparents; for others, it became how we reported to work. The Zoom generation’s still going strong — even with social distancing guidelines relaxed in many places, a fair number of workplaces have adapted to the remote work model, and we have become accustomed to seeing our friends and family through screens.

In such times, you might want a good screen to conduct your entire social life on (just kidding… mostly). The Facebook Portal’s screen displays your favorite photos and memories, makes video calls through Messenger, WhatsApp, Zoom, Workplace, BlueJeans, and more, and comes equipped with Alexa to tell you the weather, play music, or answer to smart home commands.

It’s important to note that the Facebook Portal is designed primarily to be a video-calling device — so if that’s not a priority, is isn’t for you. Its 13MP Smart Camera has a 103° Field of View, meaning that it automatically pans and zooms to keep you in the screen as you move around the room, and Smart Sound technology minimizes background noise to make sure your voice is clear through the call.
