Developer Psyonix has announced that Rocket League Season 5 will begin November 17 following an update on November 16 at 4 PM PT / 7 PM ET. The upcoming season adds a new battle car, arena variant, Rocket Pass, and limited-time mode.

As seen in a new trailer, embedded below, Starbase Arc is getting an updated look for Season 5, with an evil intergalactic force invading the arena. The trailer also features a reimagined variation of GRIMES’ “Player Of Games,” and the new song will be available in Rocket League at the start of Season 5. You can also see the three new Rocket Labs arenas coming to the game: Barricade, Colossus, and Hourglass.

As per usual, the new season will feature a new Rocket Pass (Rocket League’s version of a battle pass). The paid premium track includes dozens of unique rewards; most notably, the new Nexus battle car. Keeping with Season 5’s space theme, the paid Rocket Pass track also includes cosmetics related to star systems and spaceships, such as the Spacedirt paint finish, Hyperspace animated decal, and Cosmosis goal explosion.

A new limited-time mode, Heatseeker Ricochet, will kick off November 18, the second day of Season 5. The mode is a variation of another Rocket League limited-time mode, Heatseeker, in which hitting the ball causes it to automatically hone in on your opponent’s goal.

Rocket League is free-to-play and features both cross-play and cross-progression, allowing you to play the game anywhere with anyone. The game is available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, PC, and Switch.

GameSpot may get a commission from retail offers.
