A free update for Nintendo’s Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit has arrived, adding split-screen support and more ahead of the holiday season during which the game will be discounted nicely.

The new update adds split-screen multiplayer support, along with the option to play any Grand Prix cup with 2-4 players in a new mode called Relay Race.

Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, which is developed by Knockout City’s Velan Studios, lets players create their own Mario Kart course in their homes and use the Switch to control a real physical cart that drives around on the flood. You play gates around your living room, or anywhere else, to create a course, and then it comes to life with a variety of fantastical elements in the game.

Home Circuit normally costs $100 but it will be discounted to $60 for Black Friday. This deal, and Nintendo’s many other Black Friday offers, go live beginning November 21.

GameSpot’s Home Circuit review scored the game a 7/10. “The more work you put into making your go-kart track craftwork unique, the more enjoyment you’ll get out of racing, with or without some frustration and repetition,” Steve Watts said. “Mario Kart Live isn’t going to have the long-term appeal of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, but with some imagination and ingenuity, you can make it something special.”

GameSpot may get a commission from retail offers.
