Seth Rogen, Elle Fanning To Join Chippendales Movie Cast – Report

Actors Seth Rogen (Sausage Party) and Elle Fanning (The Great) are reportedly in consideration to join an upcoming film telling the origins of the Chippendales male exotic dancing company. Citing unnamed sources, Deadline was the first to report this development.

As of this writing, neither role is confirmed, but Rogen is rumored to play Nick DeNoia, the choreographer who originated the Chippendales routine. Fanning is in consideration to play Playboy bunny Dorothy Stratten, who helped develop the dancers’ signature cuffs and collars uniforms.

The pair would join director Craig Gillespie (I, Tonya) and Dev Patel (The Green Knight). The latter will star as Somen “Steve” Banerjee the Indian-American entrepreneur who started the touring dance troupe] Chippendales. The project would also mark a reunion for Rogen and Gillespie, who worked together on Hulu’s Pam & Tommy, about the 1995 theft and release of Pam Anderson and Tommy Lee’s infamous sex tape. Pam & Tommy is slated to debut on February 2, 2022.

Note that this project is unrelated to the similarly-focused Hulu series Immigrant, which will feature Kumail Nanjiani (Eternals, Silicon Valley) in the Banerjee role. Fans of Immigrant’s story or the Chippendales are also likely to be interested in HBO Max’s The Real Magic Mike, an unscripted series about dudes getting nude.
