Henry Cavill takes Stephen Colbert through building his own PC

Remember when Henry Cavill built his own computer set to several Barry White songs? Maybe you were washing your hair that day, but it happened, in July 2020.

The actor joined Stephen Colbert to talk The Witcher Season 2 on Tuesday, speaking about which potion he’d drink IRL and Superman’s undies. But the Late Show host also gave a throwback to Cavill’s computer in the interview, asking basically, why would you do that?

“This is true nerd cred, you built your own gaming PC,” said Colbert. “Now, I’m not a gamer. What’s the value of building your own gaming PC?”

“It’s just the experience. You are building something which is entirely custom to you,” said Cavill. “It’s doing all the research, learning how to put it together, getting over the terror of these expensive components arriving in the mail, and you just plugging them in like adult Lego. And then hoping you don’t blow up the house when you press the power button. It’s really, really rewarding when you don’t blow up the house.”

Cavill gave a big national TV shoutout to YouTuber Bitwit and warned against getting an RTFM if you ask questions online. But you should anyway!

The Witcher Season 2 arrives on Netflix Dec. 17.
