Aleph.im partners with Ubisoft to bring playable NFTs to AAA games for the first time

Gamers “will be able to claim playable NFTs that represent in-game assets such as weapons, equipment” It sounds to me that this will function just like the Ubisoft rewards you get for gaining trophies & achievements which you can use to spend on extra items. It’s just that Ubisoft is experimenting with delivering the same with a new technology.

People complained about preordering games, people complained about DLC, people complained about season passes, people complained about micro-transactions and people complained about paying for cosmetic items, XP boosts and time savers – but then you lapped them up! Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is now Ubisoft’s second most successful game which means it now has the authority to experiment with new payment products. Credit where credit is due Ubisoft is a pioneer of the industry. Now all we need is Activision to introduce NFTs to Call of Duty, Epic to Fortnite and EA to Fifa Ultimate Team.

I’m not here to get upticks from privileged kids / hardcore gamers who want everything to stay the same because they don’t want to experiment with new products, I’m here to speak the truth. NFTs ARE COMING TO INVADE THE GAMES YOU LOVE and GOD BLESS THE CASUALS because they’re the ones driving innovation that will help make it happen.
