The Lost City might be the harrowing story of one woman’s kidnapping, but a deleted scene from the digital edition puts things in a new perspective.

Loretta (Sandra Bullock) calls up Nana (Joan Pringle) while looking for Beth (Da’Vine Joy Randolph). But when it turns out Beth is actually off looking for Loretta, Nana seems to feel left out — “stuck,” she says.

“Sounds like we’re both stuck,” says Loretta.

“Where are you stuck?” Nana challenges.

“I’m on an island,” Loretta says, and then she dares say that she wants to go home. From an island!

“I’d give my left tata to be on an island,” Nana says, unaware that Loretta has been taken hostage by crazed billionaire Abigail Fairfax (Daniel Radcliffe). But she offers a useful perspective on the true meaning of living, which Loretta may have lost sight of since her late husband passed.

“Is it pretty there?” Nana asks finally. Loretta casts a glance at cover-model turned rescuer Alan (Channing Tatum) and gets us with a classic rom-com move.

“Yeah,” she says. “It’s beautiful.”

The Lost City is will be available to purchase on digital May 10.
