“Fortnite” Season 3 Chapter 3 looks very chill, which is weird

Parties. Ballers. Stormtroopers on a roller coaster. Not entirely sure what vibe that adds up to but it’s kind of impeccable, and it’s also the theme for Fortnite Season 3 Chapter 3 “Vibin.'”

This time there’s no war, no massive threat looming over the island — just fun, chill hangs, a few new weapons, and the long-awaited arrival of Darth Vader himself having a literal ball zapping bananas in a floaty, bouncy Baller. It’s so calm that, well…does anyone else think that this might be covering up something worse? No. Epic Games would never bait and switch their players like that. Right? Right.

Anyway, the “Vibin'” trailer shows cool parties, a sneak peek at the new Reality Island area, fire dancers, and no apocalypse about to destroy everything or cubes named Kevin…it’s fine. It’s probably all fine for real this time.

Summer 2022 will be all about kicking back and having a great time with Fortnite, so there’s no way the — oh damn it, yup. There it is. An absolutely terrifying dude with a spooky hat looking at everyone having fun like he’s about to crush them in the palm of his hands. Ah well. The vibes will be fun while they last as long as everyone keeps their guards up. Maybe.

Fortnite Season 3 Chapter 3 launches June 5.
