Guile. Buddy. You sure about this?
Fighting game fans got a fresh look at Street Fighter 6 on Thursday during the 2022 Summer Games Fest stream hosted by Geoff Keighley, and only a couple of days after another buzzy look at the upcoming release. The latest trailer introduces a new look for longtime series veteran Guile and, hoo boy, has he made some choices since we last saw him.
The flat-topped, high-kicking martial artist now sports a scruffy, golden goatee on his face. Has he not ever watched Star Trek? There are plenty of blanket “goatees are bad” opinions out there, but as we’ve seen again and again in popular entertainment (remember Community?), a fictional character’s fresh goatee generally comes with a fresh coat of evil paint on the side. Guile is headed down a bad road, and it starts with his facial hair choices.
Street Fighter 6 is coming to PC, PlayStation, and Xbox sometime in 2023.
