‘God of War Ragnarök’ preorders are officially live ahead of its Nov. 8 release

TL;DR: Set for release on Nov. 9, 2022, God of War Ragnarök is available for preorder as of July 15.

Even in a year filled with massive video game releases (Elden Ring ring a bell?), to call God of War Ragnarök “highly anticipated” would be an understatement of Asgardian proportions.

After delaying the game from 2021, Sony satiated fans with a Nov. 9, 2022 release date and a cinematic trailer for the God of War sequel earlier this month. And finally, as of July 15, you can pre-order it directly from PlayStation.

Ready to dive back into the saga of Kratos and Atreus? Here’s an overview of every edition that’s up for grabs for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5:

Anyone who purchases the full game before it’s out will receive a voucher code for two free in-game bonuses: Kratos Risen Snow Armor and the Atreus Risen Snow Tunic cosmetic. (You’ll unlock them as you progress through the main story.) Note that if you purchase a copy for PS4, you can later upgrade to the PS5 version for just $10.

As pricey as it is, we wouldn’t be surprised if the God of War Ragnarök Collector’s Edition sold out based on its packaging alone: It comes in a box featuring artwork representing the Knowledge Keeper’s Shrine, a callback to the Giant Sorceress Gróa from 2018’s God of War reboot. (She’s the one who first predicted Ragnarök, the apocalyptic event that the game’s title refers to.) You’ll find the following inside:

• A printed voucher code for the full God of War Ragnarök game on PS4 and PS5

• A Steelbook Display Case

• 2-inch Vanir Twins Carvings (done in the same style as Atreus’ wooden toys from the 2018 game)

• A Dwarven Dice Set with a wood-like finish

• A 16-inch replica of Mjölnir, Thor’s big ol’ hammer

A reference to the Aesir’s enemies, the God of War Ragnarök Jötnar Edition is a must for diehard fans of the franchise. Everything in this version also comes packaged in a Knowledge Keeper’s Shrine-inspired box:
