At San Diego Comic-Con, AMC has released a new trailer for Tales of the Walking Dead. The six-episode anthology series is slated to arrive on August 14.

During the panel to discuss the new show, the members of the cast joined Tales of the Walking Dead creator Scott M. Gimple shared some details about what to expect from the anthology. Gimple explained that the show was inspired by fan questions about the flagship series’ universe, and that the show will more often than not emphasize new details or aspects of what living in this zombie apocalypse is really like for different types of people. Check out the trailer below, and see for yourself.

Although it’s been known since roughly February this year–when the show’s cast was announced–that the series’ standalone stories will “focus on both new and established characters within the walker apocalypse,” this trailer and Gimple’s remarks are setting expectations for stories that Tales from the Walking Dead eill venture into new territory to answer old questions. The show’s cast includes Terry Crews (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Olivia Munn (Office Christmas Party), Parker Posey (Lost in Space), Jillian Bell (Rough Night), Anthony Edwards (ER, Inventing Anna), and Poppy Liu (Hacks)–though it’s still unknown whether these standalone stories may overlap in some way, or directly connect with the original series.

In addition to Tales, the Daryl spin-off–formerly the Daryl and Carol spin-off–is one of many expected to branch off The Walking Dead once the latter wraps. Still on the way are a set of feature films for Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), and the most recently announced Isle of the Dead–which will feature Negan and Maggie, and debut sometime in 2023. Fear the Walking Dead has been going strong since 2015.

Over in the flagship series The Walking Dead, the final episodes are slated to start airing on October 2.
