TL;DR

  • Samsung has pushed out the One UI 5 beta in Germany.
  • The beta is available for Galaxy S22 series phones.

We’re inching ever closer to the Android 13 rollout, so that means we’re also getting closer to stable One UI 5 coming to Samsung phones. Can’t wait for the stable update to launch? Then you’ll be glad to know that Samsung is starting the One UI 5 beta rollout for the Galaxy S22 series.

Samsung confirmed on its Community forum that it’s kicked off the Android 13-based One UI 5 beta in Germany today. This applies to the Galaxy S22, S22 Plus, and S22 Ultra models. The update reportedly has firmware version S90xBXXU2ZHV4.

You’ll need to register in the Samsung Members app to get started, under the banner “One UI beta program.” The company says that further instructions will be issued via the app. Samsung does, however, caution users that you’ll need to backup important data and that contactless payments and several third-party apps might not work as a result.

There’s no word on a rollout for other markets just yet. But Samsung Germany said the beta program will be limited to the first 500 users. We’re guessing this same limitation could be in place for other regions. Nevertheless, it stands to reason that the beta should be landing in other markets soon.
