Now the drama over Don’t Worry Darling is ebbing (but not over, never over), Florence Pugh’s other new anticipated film is coming, and the trailer has landed.

Based on Room author Emma Donoghue’s novel which was inspired by the 19th century “Fasting Girls” phenomenon, Sebastián Lelio’s psychological drama The Wonder stars Pugh as English Nightingale nurse Lib Wright. She’s called to a small, devout community in the Irish Midlands 13 years after the Great Famine in 1862.

Lib conducts an examination of 11-year-old Anna O’Donnell (Kíla Lord Cassidy) who claims to not have eaten for four months, saying she’s survived only on a form of holy energy, but is undeniably in a state of deteriorating health. So Lib investigates what exactly is going in this small community.

The Wonder will show at the London Film Festival Oct 7 to 9 after runs at Telluride, Toronto International, and San Sebastian Film Festival. Then, it’s in cinemas from Nov. 2 and streaming on Netflix from Nov. 16.(opens in a new tab)
