Dyson deal: Save $100 on the V12 Detect Slim with a laser during Prime Day 2

Save $100: As of Oct. 11, the new laser-equipped Dyson V12 Detect Slim Absolute(opens in a new tab) cordless vacuum is on sale for $549.99 on Dyson’s website.

There’s a seriously rare Dyson vacuum deal happening during Amazon’s Prime Early Access Sale. The only catch? Amazon isn’t the place to find it.

A competing sale event at Dyson’s website(opens in a new tab) features a $100 discount on the Mashable’s Choice Dyson V12 Detect Slim Absolute(opens in a new tab), bringing the cheapest Dyson with a laser down to $549.99. (For reference, the other laser-equipped Dysons run between $749.99 and $969.99.) As far as we know, this has never happened before.

We’re suggesting buying from Dyson’s website because that’s the only place to get the V12 Detect Slim Absolute — “absolute” simple means you get three extra attachments (an up-top tool, a mini soft dusting brush, and a fabric and mattress tool) for the same $549.99 seen at other retailers for the non-Absolute version. But if you’re interested, you can save $100 on the regular V12 Detect Slim at Walmart(opens in a new tab), Target(opens in a new tab), Best Buy(opens in a new tab), and Bed Bath and Beyond(opens in a new tab). All versions come with the Laser Slim Fluffy head that’s best for hard floors and the Motorbar head that’s best for carpet.

While most of us probably do a decent job of staying on top of big spills or visible balls of fur, we’re less likely to vacuum when we don’t see anything on the floor. Dyson’s green laser highlights the layer of microscopic dust and rogue hairs that aren’t really visible to the naked eye, directing you to spots that need attention. (Yup, that’s what you’ve been walking barefoot on this whole time.)

The fluffy fibers on the laser head lap up dust while cyclonic suction pulls in heavier debris, automatically adjusting power based on the level of debris the Dyson senses. Using the laser again, you’ll be able to see the proof of a cleaning well done. When we tested this product at home, we absolutely loved it.

You know what they say: You need to feel bad about the status of your floors before you can feel good about it.
