The OnePlus N300 will have faster charging than most flagship phones

TL;DR

  • OnePlus has started to reveal details about its upcoming OnePlus N300 phone.
  • The budget phone is expected to come with a 33W charging speed.
  • The OnePlus N300 will reportedly be powered by a Mediatek processor.

Details about the OnePlus N300 — OnePlus’ next budget phone — are starting to trickle out. We now know that the phone may have something most flagship phones don’t have, which is fast charging.

OnePlus is being very tight-lipped about its upcoming OnePlus N300, but it has at least offered one spec about the device. According to The Verge, the phone is expected to have 33W wired charging. Not only is it rare to see this kind of charging speed on a budget phone, but this would also give it a faster charging speed than the Pixel 7 Pro, Galaxy S22, and iPhone 14.

Taking OnePlus’ approach to charging for its other phones into account, it’s clear that the company likes to push the boundaries with charging. Its current flagship phone — the OnePlus 10T — is capable of charging at a blazing fast 125W. Even its $300 Nord N20 offers 33W, so it may not be much of a surprise that OnePlus did the same with the N300.

In addition to the charging speed, The Verge also mentioned that the device is expected to come with a Mediatek processor and a screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. This would make it the first OnePlus phone to come to North America with a Mediatek chip.

For right now, there’s no release date for the N300 and no price tag. However, the handset’s predecessor — the OnePlus N200 — has a price tag of $239. It’s likely that the N300 would be priced somewhere near what the N200 sold for.
