TL;DR

  • Samsung confirmed a launch event for a Galaxy A-series phone on its website in India.
  • The details on the website suggest it’s the Galaxy A54.
  • The launch event is scheduled for January 18th.

It was just last week, during CES, when Samsung launched Galaxy A14. Now Samsung is preparing to launch another A-series phone next week which could be the Galaxy A54.

On its official website for India, Samsung confirmed that it is throwing a launch event for a new Galaxy A-series phone. The launch event is scheduled for January 18th and it’s believed the phone in question is the Galaxy A54.

Although the company doesn’t name the device specifically, the details seem to match what is known about the phone based on earlier leaks. This includes a Full HD 120Hz display, a triple-camera setup, and 8GB of RAM.

However, previous leaks also claimed that the Galaxy A54 would have a 6.4-inch display. This website says that this A-series phone will have a 6.6-inch screen. Outside of the A54, though, the only other device that may fit Samsung’s description is the Galaxy A34. But the Galaxy A34 is expected to have a 90Hz display instead of 120Hz.

The website also reveals the three colors that will be available: Awesome Black, Awesome Burgundy, and Awesome Green.

While the launch event and release date are meant for India, that doesn’t mean the phone won’t be sold globally. It’s likely this A-series phone will launch in India first before Samsung makes it available to the rest of the world shortly after.
