Multiple Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra users have noticed a strange deformity of sorts on the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s display. Complaints have been popping up on Reddit, Samsung Community, and Twitter about the bubble-like effect on the bottom right or left of the phone’s screen, with users wondering if they got a defective unit. Samsung has now cleared the air and said there’s nothing wrong with the S23 Ultra’s display despite the visible formation on the display.
According to the company (h/t PhoneArena), some parts of the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s screen can appear squashed or pressed when you shine a strong light on it. This is because of the pressing process for waterproofing and dust proofing.
The Galaxy S23 display has several laminated layers of window glass attached directly to the display panel. This is what causes the effect on the display, the company explained. “Everything is fine with your phone,” it replied to a concerned user.

In fact, Samsung also has a support page on its Taiwanese website, further explaining the traces of stacked lines and arrangements on the displays of its phones. “This is a normal phenomenon and does not affect the function and life of the product,” Samsung writes in its post.
