Best Xbox deals: Xbox Elite wireless controller Series 2 Core 15% off

SAVE $19: As of March 8, the new Xbox Elite wireless controller Series 2 Core is on sale for the all-time low price of $110.99 (normally $129.99) at Amazon(Opens in a new tab), Target(Opens in a new tab), and the Microsoft Store(Opens in a new tab).

The premium Xbox Elite wireless controller Series 2 is beyond worth it, but at $180, it prices out gamers on a budget. (That’s, like, half an Xbox Series S!) Fortunately, Microsoft came through with an affordable alternative last fall in the new Xbox Elite wireless controller Series 2 Core, which is effectively the same gamepad minus some swappable accessories.

The Elite Core typically retails for $129.99, but Amazon(Opens in a new tab), Target(Opens in a new tab), and the Microsoft Store(Opens in a new tab) have it on sale for just $110.99 at the time of writing. That’s a 15% savings and its lowest price since it launched in September.

Available exclusively in a black and white colorway, the Elite Core comes equipped with adjustable-tension thumbsticks, short hair trigger locks, and a wrap-around rubberized grip that keeps it secure in your hands. It supports the same button remapping options as the fancier Elite Series 2 (via the Xbox Accessories app), and offers the same impressive 40-hour battery life — you can go literal days without juicing up.

The Elite Core’s lower price point is the result of Microsoft omitting interchangeable thumbsticks, a D-pad, and paddle shapes on the controller, as well as a charging dock and carrying case. If you feel like you’re missing out, you can purchase them separately(Opens in a new tab) for $59.99 and still wind up paying $10 less than if you’d gone for the Elite Series 2 upfront.
