It didn’t help, but as the article mentioned many PlayStation fans didn’t want to pay for it. $250 for the handheld, $40 for a memory card, and $40 for your first vita exclusive game launch day.
Even if you had a lot of cross-buy games between PS3/Vita and a lot of digital PSP/PS1 games to start, it was a big expense for a ‘portable PS3’.
Many in the PS3 community waited/requested/begged/petiti oned for Uncharted Golden Abyss and Killzone Mercenary PS3 ports, but still wouldn’t buy a vita at $200.
I still have my vita. White AC3 Liberation Bundle that came with a 4gb memory card and the game. $200. OLED model before the slim LCD vita with internal memory, that nobody bought at $200 either… I think Golden Abyss and Gravity Rush was available to download for PS+ users for a year too… 3G vita or not the vita launched 2 years too late and that’s what killed it imo
