Google is getting ready to unleash its ChatGPT competitor, an AI assistant called Bard, onto the world, and among the first to get access are Pixel Superfans.

This is according to 9to5Google(Opens in a new tab), which saw an email sent to Pixel Superfans, announcing that Bard is coming soon.

“Meet Bard, an early experiment by Google that lets you collaborate with generative AI. We’d like to offer you – a member of our Pixel Superfan community – early access so you can get started as soon as Bard launches, and share your feedback,” the email says.

The outlet claims that access to Bard still hasn’t been granted to Superfans, but it appears it should be happening momentarily.

If you’ve never heard of Superfans, it’s a program for people who really, really love Pixel devices. Superfans get access to certain perks, including limited edition merch, and private Q&As with Google teams, and meetups with other Superfans. As Google creepily describes it: “Pixel Superfans meet and mingle online and at live events, where they discover even more about the devices they love.”

To join, you’ll have to fill up a survey(Opens in a new tab) in which you profess your love for Pixel products and hand over some personal information to Google.

Google announced Bard in February and said it will first be made available to trusted testers, with wider availability “in the coming weeks.” Like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Bard is an AI language model, meaning it should be able to answer your queries in a very human-like way.
