With less than two months until launch, Nintendo showed off new gameplay of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The highly anticipated sequel launches on May 12, and it will be the first Nintendo-published Switch game to retail for $70. In addition to the standard edition of the game, there are several other Tears of the Kingdom products that you can attempt to preorder, including the newly announced special-edition Zelda Switch OLED console. The $360 console is joined by a special-edition Pro Controller and carrying case.
The trio of new products aren’t available to preorder just yet, but they are expected to go live shortly. If the preorder window goes anything like the $130 Collector’s Edition and Link Amiibo (it will), preorders will sell out quickly.
Back to the game: All major retailers had been taking preorders at the original $60 price point, so if you happened to order a copy before the change, you should be good to go. We haven’t heard of any retailers canceling or adjusting the price of preexisting preorders. You can actually still get Tears of the Kingdom for $60 if you preorder from Super Shop using promo code GMSPTZLDA. The only downside here is that Super Shop doesn’t offer release-date delivery.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Preorder Bonuses
Nintendo games rarely receive official preorder bonuses, but it’s fairly common for major retailers to offer unique goodies–typically small collectibles or trinkets–to incentivize buying Nintendo games from a particular store. That’s the case with Tears of the Kingdom–at least at GameStop. The retailer is offering a wooden plaque with preorders, though you will have to pick up the plaque at a GameStop store and quantities are limited.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s standard edition is available to preorder for $70 in both physical and digital formats.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s special-edition Switch OLED has a gorgeous design featuring unique Joy-Con controllers, a white and gold dock, and a swirling circular pattern on the back panel of the console. It costs $360, but please note it doesn’t come with a copy of the game. The console will launch on April 28, two weeks before the game.

The special-edition Pro controller is black with gold accenting and a white handle on the right side of the controller. It releases the same day as the game on May 12 and costs $75.

The special-edition carrying case also releases on May 12 and costs $25. Though it’s designed for the Switch OLED, like other Nintendo-branded carrying cases of this type, you can also use it for the base model Switch.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Collector’s Edition has gone up at most major retailers, including Best Buy, GameStop, Walmart, and Target. Sadly yet predictably, the Collector’s Edition sold out extremely fast. However, we wouldn’t be surprised to see it come back in stock over the next few weeks. Here’s what you get:
