I mean he is not exactly wrong. The Xbox Series S will not be able to deliver 1440p/60fps. But the point that always gets a bit muddled is the fact that neither the Xbox Series X nor the PS5 is going to be able to deliver 4K/60fps every time either.
And that is fine. Consoles are not and never will be the place to go for high-end gaming, they are the place where you go for bang for the buck. And as long as they can deliver consistently fun experiences the resolution and even the fps metric are not that important.
But for those that want a high-end experience. Just get a high-end PC, both AMD and NVIDIA’s current offerings are arguably overpriced. But they also completely stomp whatever is inside the current-gen consoles by a landslide.
