So many communities, apps, games, and workspaces have Discord servers, including dedicated servers hosting Discord bots, custom emote storage servers, and other community-based servers for your favorite Twitch streamers and social groups. Unfortunately, with such easy access and flexibility Discord has become, those 100 free server spaces fill up quickly, painting you into a corner to carve out more room by subscribing to Discord Nitro. But paying for server space isn’t the only option. We can clean out our unused servers the old-fashioned way before adding new Discord servers. We’ve created a guide to teach you how to leave behind or permanently delete your least-used Discord servers. Then, after a good cleaning, you can freely join the top Discord communities on your favorite Android phone!

How to leave a Discord server on your desktop web browser

Leaving and deleting a Discord server are entirely two different things. Leaving a Discord server will remove that server from your current list, but if you’re not the owner, the server will still exist, which means you won’t have access to the server until you’ve received an invite to join back. On the other hand, deleting a Discord server results in the complete removal of that server, and no one can join back unless you’ve created a new server. In this section, we teach you how to leave a Discord server.

  1. Launch the official Discord website on your web browser.
  2. Click on Login and sign into your account.

How to leave a Discord server on your mobile app

Sometimes we prefer the convenience of leaving a Discord server on the go; situations can arise like getting denied joining a new server off an invite for exceeding 100 servers or navigating through your Discord list takes too much time. So sadly, that’s when it’s best to leave some of those unused Discord servers behind, so here’s how to do it right from the Android app.

  1. Launch the Discord app and log in.
  2. Hover over to the server and select the three vertical dots next to the Discord server name. Alternatively, tap and hold over the Discord server icon from your list, then tap on More Options.

Be choosey with your Discord servers

It’s no secret that Discord has transformed into a popular social messaging app serving our everyday needs, from organized social hangouts to keeping up with updates from the latest Kickstarter project. However, joining an active social platform also means carefully managing and moderating your Discord experience. So before your experiences become out of control, consider a spring cleaning for your Discord server list — you will be surprised how many Discord servers you don’t need.
