“He doesn’t say they will never out-console them. He just said they aren’t in the business of out-consoling them. That’s not exactly the same.”
It’s the fall-back excuse of “oh, we’re not actually competing with Sony, so their success is not our failure.” We all know PS and Xbox consoles are in direct competition with each other.
This whole interview really surprised me, it reads like a throwing in of the towel in the console market and maybe an early indication that it’s a space they don’t want to fight for anymore. Worrying times for Xbox fans, but Sony fans should be worried too, no competition is very bad.
