Former PlayStation Boss Saddened by PixelOpus Studio Closure

Always sucks when a studio closes.

It’s not like this team released a crappy game like Redfall.

It’s just didn’t sell well. It’s a niche game and although it was pretty good it wasn’t anything mind blowing.
Sony is smart to put their resources into studios of games that we actually buy. We didn’t buy enough of Concrete Genie , it’s simple business.

The employees around 15-20 people can join other Sony studios with priority placement.
It’s not like they permanently laid off many 100’s of employees like another much wealthier company did last year after acquiring a bunch of studios.

Making games is a business. Even if the game is great if it doesn’t make enough money this is the result when their are high standards.
