After Breaking 30 Bones In January, Jeremy Renner Is Already Jogging

Actor Jeremy Renner is making incredible progress after his horrific New Year’s Day accident in which he was run over by a snowplow and broke 30+ bones. Renner, who wasn’t sure he would survive his injuries, posted a video on Instagram recently showing how far he’s come in such a short period of time after the traumatic injury.

In videos posted on Twitter and Instagram, Renner can be seen jogging on what appears to be a microgravity treadmill from Boost Treadmills. He captioned the video, “First attempt at a very light jog with weight-assisted lift for the broken tibia.”

Yes, that’s correct, the Hawkeye star is not only already back jogging, but he is doing so on a broken leg.

“It’s a new movement that I’m not used to… Walking and jogging are very different muscle groups,” Renner said in the Instagram video specifically (via The Hollywood Reporter). “The leg’s still broken, thank goodness for the titanium.”

Renner suffered horrific injuries in the accident when he was trying to save a family member, including the broken bones, his eye popping out of his socket, and a jaw that needed to be held together with rubber bands and screws. He needed multiple surgeries.

His treadmill video is not the first example of Renner getting back to his workouts after the accident. He actually got on an exercise bike in February.

Renner received an outpouring of support after the accident, from fans, and from other movie stars like Chris Evans and Chris Pratt.

In the hospital, Renner said he wrote down his “last words” to his family should he have passed away. “Don’t let me live on tubes on a machine,” Renner said about what he told his family. “If my existence is going to be on drugs and painkillers, let me go now.”

Renner is a two-time Oscar nominee, known for his roles in The Hurt Locker and The Town. In the MCU, he plays Clint Barton AKA Hawkeye.
