Stories, characters and music will always be the key to placing a game atop my favorites list. This game did not disappoint on any of these fronts. After some reflection, I have placed it as my third favorite Final Fantasy game. FF VI being my number one, and FF X being my second favorite. The boss battles in this blew me away. No RPG that I can think of could top the boss battles in this game. The whole end section of the game was beyond expectations. Definitely my game of the year, no contest whatsoever. Even with its flaws, this game shines brighter than anything I’ve seen in a very long time.
