Spider-Man 2 Looks Like A Movie I’ve Already Seen Twice

It’s funny to see The Last of Us 2 mentioned in that opinion piece, being that Sony owns that IP, and allow ND to take risks (as we all know) and give them the freedom to make the games they want. But also, while Insomniac is working on this game as a First party studio, owned by Sony, the Spider-Man game license is owned by Marvel. Therefore, while it’s obvious that Marvel is allowing Insomniac to be creative and tell the story of Peter Parker/Spider-Man that they want to tell, that excites them, they also stay within the confines of it, not doing anything overly extreme.

I cannot fathom what Insomniac has to offer us fans come Oct 20th with Spider-Man 2, but I have no doubt it’ll be a game that’s BIGGER in scope, but also offering a story that’s familiar, while new, fresh, fun, funny, and based on the actors comments at the Comic Con panel intense and emotional as well. We’re getting a bigger, richer story in this sequel, with gameplay additions that’ll greatly flesh out the gameplay between Peter and Miles, while also having the symbiote to play in as well, which will no doubt offer its own unique powers, fun combos and great gameplay for us to experiment with.

I look at Spider-Man 2 much like I did God of War Ragnarok and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, I didn’t go in expecting the best games ever with them, I expected something great (but even than I knew they’d offer a game better than great) both are incredible games, both in which took risks, while not to the lengths of say The Last of Us 2 they took little risks in certain areas of their games story’s and gameplay, both ended up being loved by millions of gamers worldwide.
