SAVE $20: As of Jan. 9, get Super Mario Maker 2 for $39.99. That’s a 37% discount and $20 off its usual price of $59.99. This is a return to the game’s lowest price since Oct. 2023.

There’s never a bad time to jump into a Mario adventure. If you’ve polished off the rest of the series’ catalogue and you’ve already bested Super Mario Bros. Wonder, why not take that experience and make your own Mario levels? Unleash your inner game developer with the fantastic and whimsical Super Mario Maker 2, and save a little money while doing it thanks to a sale going on at Walmart right now.

As of Jan. 9, Super Mario Maker 2 is on sale for $39.99 at Walmart. That’s $20 off its usual price of $59.99, and a savings of 37%, which brings the game back down to its lowest price since Oct. 2023. It’s still listed for $47.50 on Amazon at the moment, and regularly goes in and out of stock there. This price is for the physical copy, which you’ll have to have shipped to your home. The option is available, however, to purchase online and pick it up at a brick-and-mortar store. Just check around to see if one of your local Walmart stores and opt for pick-up instead of shipping at checkout.

Super Mario Maker 2 is some of the most fun you can have with everyone’s favorite Italian plumber. You can create and play custom 2D Mario levels on your own, share them with others online, or jump into what fellow fans have dreamt up. From creating walls of coins to collect to placing enemies and spikes on precarious ledges, you can make your own perfect Mario game. If it happens to be so hard that people rage quit while playing your levels, then so be it.

Mashable Deals

If you’d prefer a more traditional experience, you can play through the many levels available in the game’s story mode. There, you can challenge yourself with a wide variety of inventive courses that may be more difficult than what you can dream up. It’s a great alternative for when you don’t want to be the one dreaming up daunting adventures for Mario and his friends. However you slice it, this is a must-have for any Switch library, so don’t pass on it for this price.
