The Fortnite Chapter 5 map is a much different beast than the island we fought on in Chapter 4. Obviously, it’s an entirely new island with entirely new landmarks on it, but it also feels pretty different. This map is more geographically volatile–meaning there are a lot more hills and mountains and sharp cliff faces all over the place, much more like the retro map we played on in OG season.
Likewise, we’ve got entirely new types of locations here, with multiple Places of Interest (POIs) that are primarily just a single massive building, something Fortnite has never done before. It’s a whole new ballgame out there in some significant ways, and it’s been a process to find the best landing spots.
