If you’re ready to grab a new model, now’s a good time to do so, as Google’s newest Pixel device is going for a great price over at Amazon right now.
As of Jan. 16, you can get an unlocked Google Pixel 8 (128GB) for just $549 at Amazon. That’s $150 off its normal price of $699 and a discount of 21%. This price applies to the Hazel, Obsidian, and Rose color options. You can also upgrade to the 256GB model for $609, which is a 20% discount and $150 off the normal price of $759.
The Google Pixel 8, while only adding a few iterative features over last year’s model, is every bit a great Android smartphone. Mashable reviewer Alex Perry praised it for its “great cameras” and “strong performance” as well as good battery life and a crisp 120Hz display.
“These are going to be the best Android phones you can get if you care about great cameras, strong performance, and AI,” Perry wrote.

The Pixel 8 boasts a 6.2-inch display, a Google Tensor G3 chipset with an Arm Cortex-X3 CPU core, four Cortex-A715 cores, and four Cortex-A510 cores for a powerful setup with 8GB of RAM. It’s more than capable of handling any task you throw at it with that in mind, and it’s an attractive device that can get you where you want to be with a daily driver phone.
