Palworld – How To Get Lucky Pals (Shiny Pals)

January 30, 2024

You’ll encounter numerous creatures in Palworld. Along the way, you might even encounter rarer versions that have a slight buff. Here’s our guide on how to get Lucky Pals in Palworld, the game’s equivalent to Pokemon Shinies.

How to get Lucky Pals in Palworld

Lucky Pals in Palworld are caught normally just like other animals in the game. The big difference here is that they’re extremely rare. In certain aspects, you can think of them as akin to Shiny Pokémon.

What are the differences between regular Pals and Lucky Pals

The first thing you’ll notice if there’s a Lucky Pal near your location is the unique sound effect. We can only describe it as somewhat similar to wind chimes or like the sound of magical stardust. You’ll also see a creature that sparkles and shines, which is quite different from regular variants.

Once you hear a special sound effect, look around you to find a Lucky Pal.

As an aside, we’ve yet to confirm if Lucky Pals are harder to catch compared to their normal counterparts. However, we still encourage you to boost your Pal Capture Rate. Moreover, we still don’t know the spawn rate of these creatures. As such, it’s up to you if you want to increase the “Pal Appearance Rate” setting before starting a sandbox campaign.

What is the Lucky perk/passive

One factor that makes Lucky Pals in Palworld unique is that they have the “Lucky” passive or perk. It automatically grants them +15% work speed and +15% attack, making them viable companions for exploration, as well as assigned defenders of your base.

The innate passive grants a decent buff for combat and base-related tasks.

Do take note that having the “Lucky” perk does not prevent them from having negative traits. It’s still possible for these animals to have attack-lowering perks, such as “Coward” or “Pacifist,” which render the innate buff moot.

In any case, this is what you need to know about Shiny Pals or Lucky Pals in Palworld. If you manage to find one, be sure to strengthen it by merging/infusing similar Pals. You can also try breeding Pals with beneficial traits to come up with more powerful offspring.

Wide-open expanses, unique biomes, and even stranger creatures await you in Palworld. You can learn more about the game in our guides hub.
