The way its dark undertones are wallpapered over by its wildly eccentric visuals, soundscapes, and characters works so well. Admittedly, certain gameplay and storytelling elements can feel like empty pageantry, but they’re annoying speedbumps in the grand scheme of things. Paradise Killer succeeds by selling all of its ostensibly contradictory artistic choices as inseparable parts of a greater whole.”
