Hands-on with Logitech’s new Casa Pop-Up Desk

February 27, 2024

I have been working from home since March 2020. I’m very particular about my work setup — I prefer to have an external monitor for a second screen and I like my laptop to sit on a stand at eye level. The only issue is that I also hate being tied to my desk all day.

That’s just one of many scenarios the minds at Logitech considered when designing the new Casa Pop-Up Desk, which launched in North America Feb. 27. It’s a work-from-anywhere solution that’s basically a folio that doubles as a laptop stand and encases a wireless keyboard and touchpad. The Logitech Casa comes in three colors and retails for $179.99.

I got the chance to try out the Casa a few days before its release and I’ve got to say, I’m a fan. Even though I have a wireless keyboard and mouse on my desk, I still find myself using my laptop’s trackpad. I just like the user experience of it more than a typical mouse. So, I love the Casa’s wireless touchpad and have been using it in place of my mouse. The keyboard is a seamless experience as well.

The Casa’s keyboard is also compatible with the Logi Options+ app, where you’re able to set personalized commands for the function keys. The app lets you automate multiple tasks with a single keystroke. Both the keyboard and touchpad are designed to work seamlessly across multiple operating systems. I tried them on a Windows laptop and a MacBook and they functioned intuitively for both.

This portable desk solution is actually, dare I say, cute, available in the following colors: Nordic calm (a white and purple combo), bohemian blush (an all-pink design), and classic chic (a dark green exterior with black accessories). The lead designer of the Casa said he wanted it to blend in with people’s existing home decor, so they could fold it up and forget about work during their non-working hours. It honestly camouflages so well on a bookshelf or coffee table.

As part of Logitech’s ongoing sustainability efforts, the plastic parts of the Casa Pop-Up include post-consumer recycled plastic: a minimum of 62 percent for the touchpad, a minimum of 47 percent for the keyboard, and a minimum of 44 percent for the folio.

While I’ve only used the Casa in my apartment, I can see it being great for working at a coffee shop, a co-working space, or even an office. We do have a full hands-on review of the Logitech Casa Pop-Up Desk coming soon, so stay tuned.
