Metaphor: ReFantazio Collector’s Edition Back In Stock At Walmart

Restock update: After selling out quickly when it first went up for preorder, Metaphor: ReFantazio’s Collector’s Edition is back in stock. You can preorder the collector’s edition for PS5 and Xbox Series X at Walmart. The Xbox Series X version is also in stock at Best Buy and GameStop. But keep in mind that the PS5 version is sold out everywhere except for Walmart, so you’ll want to order soon.

Atlus has been on fire lately with its Persona games and various other entries in the JRPG genre, and its next title, Metaphor: ReFantazio, has an official release date of October 11 locked in. With development being led by several Persona veterans–including director Katsura Hashino, who has led the Persona franchise through its most successful era so far–this could be the start of a major new franchise for Atlus and its publisher, Sega.

The standard $70 launch edition is available to preorder now at Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, Target, and GameStop for PS5 and Xbox Series X. The Launch Edition comes with the in-game bonuses listed above.

The $150 Metaphor: ReFantazio Collector’s Edition is back in stock at Walmart for PS5 and Xbox Series X. It’s unlikely to remain in stock for long, though.

The collector’s edition is currently sold out on both platforms at Best Buy and Amazon. GameStop is sold out of the PS5 edition, but still has the Xbox version in stock.

In case you missed the trailers, Metaphor: ReFantazio is a fantasy game in which you attempt to seize the throne after the kingdom’s previous ruler is assassinated. In this land, anyone of any social class can become the next king so long as they get the people’s support. Players will be able to master Archetypes, powerful abilities that transform characters into one of several classes with unique skills to use in battle, and the game uses a mix of real-time action and turn-based combat.

Similar to Persona’s Social Link system, ReFantazio uses the Follower system to forge bonds with the people you meet on your journey and unlock new Archetypes to experiment with. Metaphor: ReFantazio will launch for PC, PS5, PS4, and Xbox Series X|S on October 11.
