Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance Preorders – Steelbook Edition Still Available At Amazon

June 13, 2024

Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance, the definitive edition of Atlus’ brilliant RPG, is set to release this Friday, June 14. Originally a Nintendo Switch exclusive, Vengeance will bring the stellar experience to PlayStation, Xbox, and PC (as well as Switch). If you haven’t preordered your copy yet, there’s still time to get the launch edition, which comes with a free steelbook case, on June 14, if you order from Amazon or Best Buy. Vengeance is earning rave reviews from critics, with the PC version currently holding a 91 Metascore on GameSpot sister site Metacritic and an 87 for Switch and PS5.

Along with the original story, Vengeance includes a whole new storyline and reworked graphics. There’s a lot of new content in Vengeance. It’s safe to say Vengeance is the definitive way to play Shin Megami Tensei 5 in 2024–much like how Persona 5 Royal is the best way to play Persona 5.

$60

The launch edition of Vengeance includes the base game along with an exclusive steelbook and two in-game Sacred Treasure Sets. These DLC packs come with Gleam Grenades to attack your enemies and Haraedo Beads to recover your HP. This special launch edition is available for PS5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch.

You can still get release-day delivery at Amazon and Best. Buy for the launch edition (as of June 12).

$60

The standard edition of Vengeance includes the base game and any eligible preorder bonuses. But since it’s the same price as the launch edition (which includes a few goodies), you shouldn’t opt for the standard unless the launch edition sells out.

Steam preorders are discounted at GameSpot sister site Fanatical. You can snag your preorder of the standard edition for $52.19.

$70

Preorder the Digital Deluxe edition to get the base game along with the following in-game goodies:

  • Mitama Dance of Wealth
  • Mitama Dance of EXP
  • Mitama Dance of Miracles
  • Holy Will and Profane Dissent
  • Sakura Cinders of the East
  • 2 Sacred Treasures Set

Like the standard edition, you can save on the PC version (Steam key) at Fanatical. The Digital Deluxe edition is only $60.89 at Fanatical, which means you’re essentially paying the standard edition price and getting all the goodies above for free.
