It is time to head back to Westeros! House of the Dragon returns with Season 2 on Sunday, June 16 for the next chapter of the Targaryen civil war. The house is divided into opposing sides, with Team Green consisting of Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) and her son Aegon II (Tom Glynn-Carney), while Team Black includes Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) and Daemon (Matt Smith), as the family fights itself for control of the Iron Throne. Rhaenyra was announced as heir by her father, the deceased King Viserys Targaryen (Paddy Considine), when she was a teenager. His wife Alicent believes that he changed his mind on his deathbed and had her son Aegon take the throne instead. In Season 1, the two sides were readying resources to go to battle until Rhaenyra’s second son was murdered in the Season 1 finale. We now enter Season 2 ready to go to legitimate war.
