Yeah, agreed. Its physics were beyond its time, and sadly Ubi discarded a lot of cool stuff that made FC2 stand out and dunbed it down for FC3 and upwards. There are a bunch of videos showcasing all the little impressive details Far Cry 2 had.
But I agree about the annoyances as well, like the weapon malfunctions and I think there were issues with enemy camps repopulating too quickly.
I do enjoy Far Cry games though, but I know what I’m getting into and I don’t expect to finish them. I generally lose interest about halfway through, it seems.
