Hackers that go after gaming companies are clueless. The company won’t pay you at all, it barely hurts their bottom line to have ppl know about their upcoming games and there’s no guarantee they’ll be safe from future extortion so they always choose not to pay. As for caring about their employees data they only care enough if it’s the board of directors or ceo info because employees can be replaced and they don’t really care about them.

Even in worst case scenarios like with insomniac they’d rather have their game pirated early and release it for money later with a few lost sales than actually pay the hackers.
