Dead Rising Deluxe Remastered Launches In September With Some Extra Modern Features

Capcom has announced that Dead Rising Deluxe Remastered will launch on September 19 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

A faithful remaster of the first game, Dead Rising Deluxe Remastered will cost $50 and boasts a major graphical overhaul made possible using Capcom’s proprietary RE Engine. Though its original gameplay mechanics remain intact, the company has confirmed that certain modern features–such as autosaves, revamped controls, and improved UI–have been added to improve the game’s quality of life. It’s also fully voiced, but it doesn’t seem like the original voice actor, TJ Rotolo, will be reprising his role as protagonist Frank West.

Those who preorder the game will receive various costumes for Frank and some background music. They include Frank’s original outfit and the Willamette Parkview Mall bee costume from the 2006 game, as well as the Chuck Greene outfit from Dead Rising 2. There will also be a physical release of the game coming in November.

The original Dead Rising game was released in 2006 for Xbox 360. It was then remastered for its tenth anniversary in 2016 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The series has been quite successful and spawned three additonal titles: Dead Rising 2 in 2010, Dead Rising 3 in 2013, and Dead Rising 4 in 2016.

In GameSpot’s Dead Rising review, we said, “Dead Rising’s gory, ridiculous, and entertaining action, coupled with its real-time structure and campy stylistic touches, make it one of the most unique games currently available for the Xbox 360.”
