7 Days To Die – How To Get Wheels And Craft Vehicles

August 3, 2024

7 Days To Die‘s Navezgane map offers plenty of ground to explore, but it’s a slow process until you can get a set of wheels for your adventures. Here is everything you need to know to cruise your way through the apocalypse.

How to craft vehicles and get a “free” bicycle

Once you complete 10 trader quests from Rekt, you can get a bicycle as a reward. This offers you nine additional storage slots and a way to pedal around the map a bit faster, and without the need for fuel.

However, you can use resources to craft a minibike by reading 20 vehicle magazines, 45 magazines for the larger motor bike, 70 is needed to craft the 4-wheeler, and 100 magazines read for the gyrocopter.

By the time you’ve read enough vehicle magazines to reach the high-tier vehicles like the 4-wheeler, you will likely have scavenged plenty of parts to craft your own, with the wheels being one of the rarest parts needed.

How to get wheels

Wheels are an essential crafting component for making your own vehicle. You can get wheel parts in various ways.

  • These can be found at random from looting or disassembling cars with the wrench tool
  • You can sometimes get them from traders
  • You can craft them at the workbench. (It costs 3 forged iron, 24 scrap polymer, 2 oil, 16 coal, and 1 bottle of acid per tire.)

You can put points into the Grease Monkey skill in order to start crafting vehicle parts that cost fewer materials, but this is something probably best to invest in once you’ve gotten your footing in the world and all your other essentials to survive.

For more tips in 7 Days to Die, we have a guide on healing injuries and other ailments, how to find mechanical parts, and how respec your skills.
