Hugh Jackman Performs His Grunts And Screams In Deadpool And Wolverine BTS Clip

Although Pixar’s Inside Out 2 is the highest-grossing movie of the summer, Deadpool and Wolverine is catching up fast and closing in on $1 billion worldwide by this weekend. That’s a testament to the drawing power of leading men Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, who only briefly shared the screen 15 years earlier in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Now, Jackman is sharing a behind-the-scenes look at his ADR process during one of the new film’s fights between Wolverine and Deadpool.

The scene in question takes place near the middle of the movie, as Deadpool and Wolverine can no longer tolerate each others’ presence. For every blow, kick, or punch, Jackman has to make the appropriate sound at the recording studio. Additional dialogue recording is a common practice for films and TV shows, but Jackman seems to be very animated while acting out the fight again.

Jackman’s vocal recordings were incorporated into the final version of Deadpool and Wolverine in theaters. And there’s almost certainly got to be footage of Reynolds doing the same thing for his side of this Wolverine and Deadpool fight. Whether Reynolds will post those clips himself remains to be seen. He hasn’t been shy about revealing many of the film’s Marvel cameos since it hit theaters near the end of last month.

Director Shawn Levy has also recently shared new pics from Deadpool and Wolverine, which he describes as “the huddle between takes.”

It’s not too soon to think about any deleted scenes that may show up on the film’s inevitable Blu-ray and 4K releases. But for now, we can only catch Deadpool and Wolverine in theaters.
