The first has an absurd amount of content, story, lore, it’s actually pretty insane the amount of effort that was put into it. You can’t really just put out a sequel without topping your previous work, it’d be a disservice to the work you’ve made. I think expectations are incredibly high, probably near impossibly high from most of the fan base. I’ll be honest I never finished the game, but it was more than just a game to me. It was a fully realized world, it exceeds Souls in that aspect imo. It has its annoyances, but it really is “THAT” great.
