Grab 4K Blu-Ray Editions Of Final Fantasy Movies For Cheap During Black Friday

Final Fantasy fans can grab a trio of films based on the games for cheap during Amazon’s Black Friday sale. The discounted movies include 4K Blu-ray versions of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete and Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV, which flesh out the storylines of their namesake games–as well as Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, which offers a unique take on the series that’s unlike anything you’ll find in the games.

While these definitely aren’t good entry points for curious newcomers, they’re worth checking out for fans who want to explore new corners for the beloved RPG series. All three movies are getting big price cuts, making now the perfect time to pick them up. You can even pair them with one of several Final Fantasy games that are also on sale and spend the holidays exploring these beloved fantasy worlds. Check out the list of Final Fantasy Blu-ray and game deals below, and after that, head over to GameSpot’s Black Friday hub to see even more discounts.

$13 (was $31)

This CGI film is a sequel to the original Final Fantasy VII on PS1, offering a look at the fate of the world and main party members following the aftermath of the game’s ambiguous ending. Advent Children: Complete Edition adds additional footage that was cut from the original theatrical release, which helps smooth out some of the pacing and plot issues that held the original version back. That said, Advent Children’s highly detailed CGI quality was lauded upon release, and even today, it stands as a testament to Square Enix’s powerful tech–especially this 4K Blu-ray edition.

$11.89 (was $31)

While Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within has a notorious reputation as a failure that cost Square Enix (at the time Squaresoft) millions of dollars and eventually led to Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi leaving the company, it’s still worth checking out for die-hard Final Fantasy fans–especially when the 4K edition is on sale for this low–click the coupon box on the listing to get the full discount.

Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within looks and sounds unlike most other Final Fantasy properties, especially of the era, taking place on Earth in the distant future, and featuring a hard sci-fi plot with only the most tenuous ties to the rest of the franchise. Nevertheless, it deals with similar ideas as Sakaguchi’s other work–namely the exploration of Gaia theory and ideas like life forces connecting living things–and it features surprisingly gorgeous CGI for the time.

$13 (was $16)

Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV fleshes out the story of Final Fantasy XV, giving fans a look at events that were not shown in-game. While the game follows Prince Noctis and his entourage of friends on a road-trip-turned-world-saving-quest, Kingsglaive takes place concurrently and follows Noctis’ father, King Regis (voiced by Sean Bean), and the captain of the king’s elite Kingsglaive guard, Nyx (voiced by Aaron Paul), as they defend the kingdom of Lucis from the evil Nifelheim empire. This 4K edition also includes standard Blu-ray and digital format versions of the movie.
