PlayStation’s biggest console exclusive of 2024 is on sale for its best price yet at Amazon. As part of the retailer’s Secret Level sale, Prime members can get the physical edition of Helldivers 2 on PS5 for only $25 (was $40). Prime members can also save on the PC version; Helldivers 2 Steam keys are discounted to $32, and the Super Citizen Edition is up for grabs for $48 (was $60).

If you aren’t a Prime member, Helldivers 2 is $30 at multiple other retailers as part of PlayStation’s official holiday sale, including Best Buy and Target. As of December 10, Amazon estimates the PS5 edition won’t arrive until a couple days after Christmas at the earliest. So if you’re picking up Helldivers 2 for PS5 as a gift, you’ll want to pay the extra five bucks.
Even if you decide to go with a higher-priced copy, you should still consider signing up for one-month of Amazon Prime. To celebrate Prime Video’s new anthology series about video games, Amazon is giving away even more free games than usual–a lotmore games. Prime Gaming currently has a total of 72 free games available to claim, many of which are GOG and Epic Games Store keys. You get to keep all of the games even after you cancel your membership. New subscribers can get a 30-day membership for free, but if you aren’t eligible for the trial, you can subscribe to Amazon Prime for one month at $15. Essentially, you’re getting a 72-game bundle for only $15.

Developed by Arrowhead Game Studios, Helldivers 2 is the long-awaited sequel to the 2015 top-down shooter. Both games are cooperative shooters, but the bigger-budget sequel trades the top-down perspective for an over-the-shoulder camera angle. The twin-stick shooting mechanics in the first game were great, but Helldivers 2’s third-person gunplay is superb. The sequel earned a 9/10 in our Helldivers 2 review. The wide assortment of randomized mission objectives coupled with its well-designed progression system and zany story make for a consistently entertaining experience with friends.
Helldivers 2 quickly became a massive hit when it launched for PS5 and PC in February. It took the crown as the fastest-selling game published by PlayStation. The $40 launch price point certainly helped, but it’s still a remarkable stat considering the number of popular PlayStation IPs. It was the best-selling game of 2024 throughout the first half of the year. Helldivers 2 now occupies the No. 2 spot behind EA Sports College Football 25, which is on sale for 50% off at Amazon.
